When you use the free rent check (no account required): postcode, current rent, proposed rent, optional notice date, anonymous check ID (UUID).

When you create an account: email address, password (stored as a secure hash: we never see your password), name (optional).

Automatically collected: IP address (server logs, deleted after 30 days), browser type, and product analytics via PostHog after you accept cookies (see section 7). Before consent, we do not send analytics events to PostHog.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide rent comparisons, generate challenge letters, send account-related emails, and improve market rate accuracy (aggregated and anonymised only).

We never sell your personal data. We never share your data with advertisers.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on Supabase (EU servers, Frankfurt, GDPR-compliant). Payment data is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card numbers.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

Anonymous rent checks: 90 days.

Account data: while your account is active.

Deletion requests: contact hello@rentverify.co.uk , processed within 30 days.

Purchased documents: 7 years (HMRC requirement).
